  1. Blend door replacement

2001 2.3 xl. Basic truck. Who's replaced their blend door? I'm convinced mines broken, but my actuator looks nothing like the part list - mine is 100% cable driven mechanical with no vacuum. Am I to assume it's still the same blend door?
  2. 225/70/15 vs 235/75/15

For a small sample size update - I drove 150 miles on the 235/75/15 and hand calculated 26 mpg. That was verifying the true mileage driven by gps. Drove 152 miles this weekend (again using GPS to verify miles). Lots of 55 mph country roads and got 30.6 mpg. Much smoother ride, better...
  3. 225/70/15 vs 235/75/15

Went with the 215 70 15. Drove 150 miles on the tank with the 235 75 15 and got 26 mpg. The smaller tires definitely ride nicer than the old ones. Acceleration isn't much different, but the truck is able to hold speed much better at 70+ in 5th gear at approx 2800 rpm vs 2550.
  4. 225/70/15 vs 235/75/15

I know all too well about the 1994 with 2.3. That was my.previous beater before getting this 2001. That 2.3 lima with 3.08 gears was AWFUL. Witj 215/70/15 tires, It pulled my boat and 4 wheeler locally on flat ground surprisingly. Just driving back and forth to work and beating around town it...
  5. 225/70/15 vs 235/75/15

I also found a set of 215/70/15 locally so that also works. Will a highway style tire be suitable for gravel roads? I don't off road, but I do have a gravel road to get to my hunting lease. I'm not worried about getting stuck, but I don't want punctures. I am totally fine with the acceleration...
  6. 225/70/15 vs 235/75/15

Nothing wrong with 225/70/15. The truck came with 235/75/15 - two all seasons on the front and two winter LT rated tires on the back. I'd like to get new rubber all around - just debating staying with the 235s vs going to stock size. A local guy has a set of 235/75/15 all terrains on wheels...
  7. 225/70/15 vs 235/75/15

Hey guys, 2001 2.3 5 speed with 3.73 rear end. I bought the truck for beating around back and forth to work and hunting camp and occasionally towing my small boat or 4 wheeler (both under 1,000 lbs including trailer). I want to maintain good gas mileage. That said, the stock 225/70/15 tire...
  8. 1994 2.3 5 speed slave cylinder quick release

Alright so I got in a new hydraulic line from a supposed 1991 and it has a plastic coupler. I'm guessing this isn't going to work either?
  9. 1994 2.3 5 speed slave cylinder quick release

That's what I was hoping. The connection to the master would be the same. I know the 94 master bolts up properly to My firewall and clutch pedal - the pre 92 appears different
  10. 1994 2.3 5 speed slave cylinder quick release

Are the pre 1992 hoses themselves interchangeable with the 1994 master cylinder?
  11. 1994 2.3 5 speed slave cylinder quick release

I already have a spare master cylinder for a 1994.. would this hose interchange and make it compatible...
  12. 1994 2.3 5 speed slave cylinder quick release

So if I buy a pre bled 1991 master cylinder assembly, I should be able to route the hose to the slave and solve my issue?
  13. 1994 2.3 5 speed slave cylinder quick release

Hey guys, having an issue with my quick connection blowing off when pressing the clutch. I bought the truck off an older guy that tinkered a lot. My biggest question is do I use the plastic collar that is used to push the line off the internal barbed fitting, when I have a smooth fitting with...
  14. flowmaster 44 vs 10

hey guys, i currently have a SI/SI flowmaster 44 on my 2010 ranger sport. However, it beginning to rust, and has a dent knocked into it, and im looking to replace it. I like the way it sounds, but a little louder wont hurt my feelings. Just how much louder is the 10 series? I had the 44 dumped...
  15. dumped flowmaster = lost low end torque

2010 4.0 sport 4 x 4 ive lost some low end torque going to a super 10 dumped right after muffler.. will adding tailpipe bring it back? if not, what is the closest muffler to that of the stock setup? my stock muffler is trashed. the torque loss is enough that id rather drive in silence if i...
  16. 2010 ranger sport temp gauge question

quick simple question, which may be dumb.. but is the temperature gauge an actually functioning gauge, or is it simply a dummy switch like the oil pressure?
  17. 2010 ranger sport 4 x 4 parking brake cable

Right rear ebrake cable has snapped on my 2010 ranger sport 4 x 4. This isnt the main cable, but the short cable from coupler to brake hub. Is this available anywhere? Local dealer couldn't bring the part up in the computer.
  18. Dynomax super turbo vs flowmaster 40 series.

Looking to put an exhaust on my 2010 ranger sport 4.0. I had the flowmaster on my 06 3.0 and it sounded pretty good. Has anyone installed either on a 4.0? Which is your preference. These are my two choices as i have enough advanced auto rewards to make it free. I love a deep rumble at idle...
  19. 2010 ranger 4.0 timing chain rattle

Picked up a nice 2010 ranger with 60k miles for very very cheap, knowing it needs timing chains. The front driver side chain has a rattle at dead idle and then randomly at lower rpn as well. Have unhooked serpantine belt to verify its internal. I plan on having the motor pulled and all 3...
  20. Cam syncronizer

06 3.0 with 130k miles. Going to replace the syncronizer. No noises, but cel throwing code p1336, and still has the factory synchronizer, so im figuring its a maintenance item. Has anyone used the carquest brand? It has a lifetime warranty. I usually use motorcraft parts, but the carquest is...
