    Latest update...rear drive train rolls freely Did koer code test and got 12, 13, and 22. Wouldn't start after last, removed and cleaned plugs and now able to start. Two plugs have lots of carbon.

    Disconnect while checking compression? We have replaced the MAP sensor, it wouldn't run with the old one in. Swapped it out for a new one and the truck now runs.

    Compression looks like this... 212.0, 186.0, 193.5, 186.5, 199.0, 193.0 Seems high, perhaps we did something wrong. Used Mighty Vac Digital Compression Tester MV5532. High is ok? Low is bad?

    Just checked the timing and it is at about 10 degrees.

    My 15 year old son bought a 1990 Ford Ranger 2.9 L Manual 4x4 for $1.00 from a stranger down the alley. We have messed with it but can’t figure out why it has no power under load. It will stall out in first gear even at 2500 rpm. It tries to move and then with pedal to floor, just stalls...
