So the top and bottom of the pannel do not have connections to the printed circuit but they are clearly part of the cluster. Behind the dash were these two bulbs but they weren't locked into the cluster. The orange and back wire is a random wire that I can't find where it's supposed to go. It's...
The red and yellow wire sounds right but I'll take the dash apart tomorrow and take a look see. I'm pretty sure it's emissions. It looks like it's an ebreviation for it. I can't see it unless it let from the back or I holed it up to the light.
Hey thanks man. This helps alot. I thought they might have been for a later mattle or higher trim package. I just wanted to be sure. I'm curious if I'm shifting efficiently as well.
I will be putting in LEDs for sure.
No you're right. It's below the seatbelt light. But the one below is the shift light and the top one is emissions but they don't connect to the printed circuit board but after taking the dash apart I found to individually wired lights that are seperate to the board but not locked into the...
The two middle lights are seatbelt and parking brake. The two outside lights are emissions and shift. I know that the dashes were produced and used in many different modles. Did the 85XL not use the shift indicator or emissions lights. If they did how are they wired? The two outside lights are...
I thought that also seeing as there aren't any connectors for the bulb units to attach to but there were to wired up bulbs that were locked into the cluster itself so I wasn't sure if they were supposed to be locked into the cluster or not. I know that neither of them light up when I'm driving...
Now I know by that post title you may have avoided this thread but I'm at a loss. I took the dash apart and took out the intrament panel and checked all the bulbs and got the turn signals, seat belt light, and battery light working bit there are two spots for bulbs that do not connect to the...
It's fairly clean. Needs some interior work done and the Floor plans have some rust out but they aren't too big. The rest seems like it's in really good shape.
Hello! Just bought a 1985 Ford Ranger XL. Needed a little truck that is simple and can run to the hardware store or haul some dirt for the garden. Now I'm falling in love with this little truck!
