Sorry about that I mean the reason for my rough idiling I believe is because of a small vacuum leak. I checked all the lines and all seem to be in good shape but I can hear a faint whistle near the EGR vacuum solenoid and I also meant to ask if I do energize and de-energize this part do I use a...

Okay that's exactly what I will do then ty so much for everyone's help this truck has been one crazy adventure for me but I want to learn everything I can about her ty so much
Okay I've pulled a wire out it so I need to replace the entire splice? Or can I just splice the misplaced wire into any other wire that is fed in to that connection? The only thing that worries me about it being a ground is that it's the wire that sends the signal back to the ecm for the...
Here are some pics it's a black oval rubber piece and every component that is in the truck has a signal wire that runs from the component and is joined together with this connection
I have an 86 ranger 2.3 and my wires were rapped in my steering column. After further examination I found two signal wires that pulled out of a rubber piece that all the other signal return wires meet in some sort of splice. Can someone please explain to me what exactly that is and if I can...

Okay my mechanic told my the head was seeping on my 89. But it's never run hot until the other day when it started smoking inside the cab (not from the engine bay), which led me to believe that the smoke was coming from the heater core. So of course I bypassed it. It's no longer smoking in...

That's an idea I've had but I think I may just fix the head gasket problem on my 89 ranger,I would be fine with keeping the dis system and just having a 4 plug head I'm not a great mechanic, but I can do absolutely anything I put my mind too, so I'm going to attempt to figure out what I can do...
I'm sorry I should've been more clear I know that, I I meant the two ground wires that run from the negative post I switched to the other side of the starter the one that runs from the relay is connected to the positive side of the starter
When I attach my negative cable back to the relay and I jump the S wire again with A jumper to the positive cable it literally gets so hot I can hear it sizzling and I can watch it nearly catch fire
It still clicks but nothing is getting hot at least I don't think it matters but i should probably mention that one of my starter slots for the bolts where the negative wire runs from the starter relay was damaged. But I just ran the negative cable to the another bolt on the starter
