You have to use the Explorer 4WABS in place of the Ranger 4WABS but to do that you have to swap out the ABS pump because the modules will not interchange on them. I have all of the wiring spreadsheets that I have done that makes it very easy. You just line the wires up and solder them together...
Can anyone tell me what the rear drive length will be in a 2006 FX4 level ll Ranger. I have a 5.0 out of a 99 Ford Explorer with a factory 4r70w transmission. I am taking out the factory AWD transfer case and putting in a 4406 out of a 2004 F150 so then I can take it in and out of...
Update 11/1/23: I met the local mobile locksmith in the Costco parking lot this evening. I drove the truck in there with the original cluster in it then I switched it there in the parking lot. The locksmith hooked his machine up to the OBD port, and he reset the computer. The speedometer works...
An update on my cluster situation. I have now got everything to work on the rig the cruise control, the speedometer, the odometer everything works correctly like it supposed to from the factory.
To fix my Speedometer issue I had to use the ABS pump and wire the pigtail from the Explorer in to...
I just changed the Speedometer/cluster in my 2007 Ford ranger four-wheel-drive automatic with a 4 L. I had to change the cluster because the needle quit moving on the Speedometer. Now when I turn the key on and try to start it, the security light is flashing. Do I need to have the key...
Your attachment doesn’t show up/it won’t load. But I have an update on the dome light, there were two wires going into the back of the original cluster for the door ajar/domelight. well, since I don’t have the original cluster in it anymore, the explorer cluster only calls for one wire going...
Yes everything on the truck works like it supposed to, the cruise control and everything, etc.. The only thing I’m having a problem with is the dome light. The only time it works like it supposed to is when the key is on, when the key is off, the dome light comes on and stays on till it times out.
An update: since nobody seemed very eager to chime in I converted my Ranger to the 99 Explorer ABS system. To do that I had to get an adapter for one of the brake lines to screw into the ABS and I had to use the short lines from the ABS to the MC because they screw into the ABS in a different...
Just like the title says I need some input on getting the Speedometer to work. I did the 5 L swap then I decided to swap out the cluster with one out of a 2003 ranger because it has the sweeping gauges and not just dummy lights. The factory gauges had two 20 pin connectors and the 2003 had three...

I figured it out right after I posted this. It’s really pretty simple because the 2 OBD wires that connect from the truck are the same color as the PATS module. I just spliced them in right behind the OBD plug-in. It’s been working for a while now so I can honestly say it works. Thanks for all...
Well I got everything back together on the truck and the gauges and tach work correctly, except the speedometer/odometer is not working. I hooked up the Pin# 5 VSS gry/blk on the truck harness plug-in C220A to the Pin# 1 SPEED INPUT gry/blk on the explorer harness C287. And I hooked all the...
A wiring spreadsheet on the wires that you connected on the speedo cluster would be greatly appreciated because you said all your gauges worked correctly. TIA
I got these two diagrams today but all of the wires don’t match up, so is there quite a few wires not being used? Do I just hook up the ones that match up functionality wise, and the ones that don’t just leave them disconnected? The Ranger on the C220B connector, pins 1 and 2 are “computer data...
