    1999 Mazda Ranger

I've seen some pretty good handmade versions from plywood. Almost did that myself.

    1999 Mazda Ranger

It's a story. A guy east of town had been advertising a Decked system for a few months on Craigslist, a couple hundred dollars. I've been lusting for a Decked set for a couple years. I was choking on their price, and they don't make one for my Mazda. Wondering why this seller's setup wasn't...

Manual trans rough shift, 99 B2500

It can hang up moving or stopped. I don't see a sign of a leak, doesn't mean that's not the case. Usually I can bump other gears, or bump the gear I want, to make it "let me in". Very occasionally it just locks me out until the wheels have rolled a little. I can speed shift without the clutch...

Manual trans rough shift, 99 B2500

That was part of my thought. I remember driving a '72 Datsun pickup many years ago as a work truck. That thing had the absolutely sloppiest shifter ever. Kind of point, shove, feel for some sensation you hit a gear somewhere and let out the clutch. Amazed me that it worked, every time.

Manual trans rough shift, 99 B2500

Thanks. I've got the Haines manual. Used ATF. Sometimes it's a very normal shift, other times you have to let it coast a bit or it won't shift no matter what. Clutch fluid was a little low, that's been topped off.

Manual trans rough shift, 99 B2500

I own this Mazda Ranger. Do these typically have a clunky shift? Trans seems to be fine, once you are in gear. Trans fluid changed a month ago, it was old & black, no surprises drained out with it. Not a problem, just curious.

What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Installed the Road Active Suspension. Not as difficult aa I anticipated. Raised the rear from 29" to 34" at the top of the fenderwell. Ride is a little stiffer, not bad, but definitely.

    1999 Mazda Ranger

Stumbled across this truck three months ago, the owner wasn't interested in keeping it and now she's mine. I'm really liking this pickup! Haven't had so much fun turning wrenches in too many years. Modified a Decked system to fit. Craigslist topper, Jalopy Jungle receiver hitch, lots of Napa...
