Rainbow spaghetti! Getting tired to fabbing and waiting on coilovers plus I need to fill my welders gas. Wiring is something I weirdly enjoy. LS computer is controlling engine and transmission. I'm still using the ranger side for climate controls though. Transfer case is manual shift.
Everything just kinda fell into place now. Gonna order coilovers next and get started on that once they arrive. Moving the axle forward was the right idea. Working on plumbing, wiring and headers/exhaust. Then I'll pull everything to clean it all up, finish final welding touches and paint.
Alright I guess this is a suspension rebuild thread now and not even V8 anymore. .188 wall 1.5" Dom. Looks way cleaner than the old arm. Couldn't reuse the last ones and these "should " clear 37s with minimal rubbing, I can always add front wheel spacers back but then the track width front to...
Still coming along. Haven't touched the V8 a minute here, motor didn't fit with stock steering box and with pushing the beams forwards I ended up using a Toyota ifs box. Extended the beams too. This helps way more with travel and tire not completely eating the fenders. Gonna use 2.5x14"...
Yeah just don't ls swap your ranger. Nothing fits at all. Was gonna SAS but I can't give up on these beams. Just too much time and effort in them, plus I can't do anything the easy way. Couldn't get the engine to fit at all comfortably. Too close to beams at full tuck but why do I need 23"+ of...
Ended up cutting out most of the rear 4x4 beam bracket. I've bent it before so it's not very strong to begin with. It will be getting redone and boxed in better. Cutting it allowed be to pull the motor 1.5" forwards which clears the firewall now. I've Cut out most of the core support too now. To...
Okay so truck LS pan does not fit unless you can weld aluminum in a beamed ranger. I'm looking at 302-1 pan. This should get lower and better fitting. I have a test one to try here
1994 ford ranger 4.0 automatic plug firewall plug pin out. Hopefully I got most of these correct. I'd double check if you're going to use this for reference but should be mostly accurate. Just the essentials and everything else can be depined or repurposed

Motor is 99% free now just need a longer sawzal blade to finish cutting the driver side exhaust off. Also if anyone is looking for a 4.0 ohv, a4ld and 1354 man have I got a deal for you
The 44/35 beams are done now. New rims on the truck too. Also picked up a full-sized spare tire. Currently working on a buddy's LS swapped turbo blazer and got a second truck (98 f150 2wd) to have as a driver and dirt bike hauler for when I take this apart. Progress is slow because buying houses...
I know, I'm still using the truck accessory drive even though it sticks out the most. The volvo electric fans are slim there won't be any clearance issues.
I am ALIVE and still LS swapping my truck.
Engine is done. Just need little items for it. Transmission is getting flush and filter. Transfer case is clocked. Exhaust is started. All that's left is wiring and fuel. Need a single u joint for the 44/35 beams. That will be getting done this week or...
Another update, Ill keep them coming until it done. Traded the 6L90 for a 6L80 4x4 trans. Also picked up a np243 and converted it to manual shift. Going to be moving here into my own house so next update will be from there. Until them im just going to be piecing it together. All I have left now...
Picked up ac compressor, power steering pump and alternator today as well as all the brackets needed. A/c is going to need to be relocated there's no way to keep it down low.
Also picked up Volvo 2 speed electric fans as well as output shaft for transfer case.
Honestly it feels more balanced than anything. Then again I have extra weight up front with bumper, batteries, etc.
Might trim a bit off the service bed, still need a receiver and pull points in the back now
Apparently dodge cases have bigger chains? Honestly the only difference is the two piece tail housing. Either way hack and tap is 400 dollars less than the JB kit
