People seem to like the truck. Hope to get it to some bigger shows/meets this year. Get plenty of attention at local events. It's funny though when I pull up to meets people usually kinda smirk at it. But once they investigate their attitude changes. Its fun. Also hoping to get kicked out of the...
Appreciate. For the most part I did spend the money first time around, but there's still some things I wish I did differently. Things like the side exit exhaust are cool but ultimately a pain the ass. I think I finally have it dialed to where once warm its perfect and wont move too much. I also...
Finally purchased and installed some Racecraft drop spindles. So expensive but also damn nice quality. I'm still surprised how low this AJE kit doesn't go. Front end is as low as it can go unless it's just for show. And these are beefy tires plus my flares are lower than the stock fender wells...
I’d probably just run a different mani or cut the runners down on it. Yeah explorer 8.8. I’m almost done with the posi install. Can’t wait to see how it drives after. Once the weather gets a little nicer I want to get a tune done and max out the setup on pump gas.
Your strut tower brace is flat in the middle. Mine comes to a point. I could see why your design is better for fitting a variety of intake mani's. But I dont have any issues.
That's too generalized of a statement. With my transmission gearing 3.55's make my first gear pretty long. Going through neighborhoods and what not I'm in first or lugging in second. But yes turbo's like load. Except mine doesnt need any help spooling at all. Dropping down would be awful...
Who's got updates!
Finally getting to work on my winter upgrades. First up Yukon Posi. Decided to stick with the 3.55 gears. Although I feel like it would be quicker around town with 3.73's at the track right now im at 6700rpm in third as I cross the line. Not having to shift that one last time...
I put my 15gal cell far back as possible, but that was just so I could fit a 3-link/panhard. I sunk it between the rails and used the tanks inc internal pump setup. If I had to do it over again I would just put it in the bed. Much easier to do. Plus I added a v8 with a turbo so the more weight I...
In another thread I found out some rangers and 98-01 explorers have 33mm front sway bars. My local yard has several for $55. That's a lot cheaper than going with a 1.25" Belltech. I'll get to the bottom of this and report back.
Dang that sway bar is way thicker than my stock 95 one. I'm gunna need to make a trip to the junk yard. You're positive on the diameter? Used calipers I take it? I had been looking at belltech and hellwig sway bars and they come in 1.25 or smaller.
Found a thread on another ranger site and...
I don't mind it being basic. I can weld aluminum so I was thinking I would add a bracket to hold the stock turn signal switch assembly and what ever else I need. As long as its sturdy and going to hold up I think Ill use it. Don't plan to drive the truck everyday. So far I have 850 miles on the...
@n2xlr8n How do you like that aluminum column? The seller of those said its not DOT approved hence why he says racing only. I don't see why that should stop me from using it.
Okay, so I don't believe another stock column is going to work for me. Looking at making a race column or buying one then making brackets doesn't seem too bad. Pretty sure I already have some 3/4 OD .120 steel tube laying around.
I might just have to make my own then. The ebay one looks quite nice I thought.
I'm still a little confused on the stock column. Mainly because of this pic. I just can’t remember what the setup looked like when I originally took it all apart.
So this part here detaches from the column inside the cab?
So without the the stock steering shaft the column is strictly inside the cab? The way mine is setup now my column is inside the cab about 4inches or so from the firewall and the steering shaft enters the firewall at a pretty steep...
