I got the rear suspension off today and all of the brackets off. That one section of frame rail at the rear needs some fab work but so far everything else looks pretty good.

I got the rest of the front suspension and motor mounts off today. I also removed the right-hand spring tower. As you can see, it was pretty bad. The left one looks decent but I am going to replace it anyway. I have it torn down this far, I may as well go all the way.

I have owned my Ranger for about 26 years. I rebuilt it a couple of times over the years and it is time for another. I know it is going to cost, I know it isn't anything special, I know it will be a lot of work. I DON"T CARE! I love this truck! It has taken my wife and me through 36 states, pulled more than it should have, hauled more than it should have, taken me to work and back through every kind of weather that you can think of, and never let me down. She has earned it! I will post pics as I progress. If this post is in the wrong place, please put it where it belongs. Thanks, guys!

I love it. Great story tons of sentimental easy to work on fun project. Good luck using short hair fiberglass resin to fix rust like that. Wax paper is a good trick to not have to sand

Not sure I get the fiberglass and wax paper comment but thanks for the support!

Looking good!

We lightly went thru Youngstown when we were in the neighborhood for the '19 TRS trailride, it looked like a neat town.

Snow day today! I had to get some other stuff done by I managed a couple of hours in the garage. I thought I would take a picture of the parts too. (Not all, some are in the garage). I might have a line on some nicer cross members for the back so I am waiting to work on them until I know if I am repairing them or replacing them. Fingers crossed!

I didn't get to work on my truck for the past week because of work. I got some done yesterday. I fabricated the section of frame at the rear of the drivers side that was rusted out. I want to clean up the inner frame before I weld the new piece in, hopefully, sometime this week. This time of the year is busy for me at work. I can't wait to be finished with the frame. I have a pile of new parts to start putting back on!

I am working in irondale at the moment . . Didn't see any good scrap at this sight to fab crossmembers from....have a steel door plate though that is pretty sturdy. Maybe 1/8th thick....might be able to hack it up. Was taking it for bumper stock. Do you want it when I get out of here?

I think I am good, thanks, I only had that one place to repair. I have one cross-member that I have to do some work too but it isn't too bad so I have enough to take care of it.

Work has been getting in the way but I finally got some time on the truck this weekend. The frame has been repaired and painted. I will be sandblasting and painting the cross-members and once they are installed I can start putting some parts back one! FINALLY!!!!

I really went crazy today and got a lot done! If all goes well tomorrow I hope to get the rear end back in and maybe get her off the stands.
