Unknown Radio Code

I recently purchased a used 2011 Ranger VIN 1FTLR4FE2BPB15397 and I want to get the radio code before, I have a loss-of-power that requires the code to get the radio working again. I don't want to pull the radio to see the label. Several websites seem to say that, if I have the radio Serial Number, I can then get the radio code from a Ford database. Can anybody help with this? See attached photo of my stock Ford radio.

I don't think Ford ever did that. At least not on the Rangers.

I can find nothing about it in the shop manual, just instructions for finding the ESN number for the satellite receiver and instructions for placing a 6-disc unit in shipping mode if it has to be removed for any reason.

Nothing about a security lockout.

Yea I've never seen that in a ranger. I've swapped radios in my 2009 many times, including the exact one you have. No security involved, unplug one plug in another. Rangers just aren't that sophisticated and the radios aren't worth enough to give a crap about.

Rangers did not use theft codes to initializes their radios

They did use transponder keys to start the engine so you DO NEED a spare working key or you will have to tow the truck to a dealer or locksmith if you lose your only working key

My daily is an 01 Accord. I'm lucky a previous owner wrote the code right on the cover of the owners manual lol.

Those '01 Accords were nice cars. The '94s were nice, too. My mom's cousin had a '94, bought it new, drove it for 20 plus years. I don't know how much he spent on maintenance and repairs (if it needed something fixed, he got it fixed), but mechanically it was in good shape when he replaced it (with a 2014 Accord).

Thanks Ranger guys; I'm going to trust what you say about not having a radio code to have to worry about. My other car is a Honda (like some of the other contributors to this thread) that's where I got the idea that I might need a code.

Honda's are among the most stolen/broken into cars on the planet so they needed more security. Rangers not so much. Plus like I said, that radio costs about 20 bucks lol.
