I have my scangauge programed to read TFT on the 2019. There are three or four codes you can try to program it. It took the third try before it was able to read the sensor.

There are quite a few parameters you can play with if you are so inclined. You have to go to the scangauge site to get the list and the codes.

So, the one in the 2019 is set to read water temp, intake air temp, TFT, and volts.

I haven’t tried with the 2011. I figure a manual doesn’t have a temp sensor.

I have several bluetooth gizmos and have tried all the apps. Torque is cool if you have a tablet connected since you can make all the custom gauges look "cool". But if you're only goal is to read some PIDs the scanner I use the most is my 20 dollar Ancel. Its small, simple and works. Literally 4 buttons and gets straight to the point. Nothing beats forscan though (laptop version not cellphone version) unless you get into bidirectional scanners that start low end at around 800 bucks.

Funneling colder than engine bay air has improved my engines running especially when beating on it before when running back roads with a mustang or a motorcycle it would get too much heat soak and run real dumb. I haven't had that issue lately since I made my funnel intake box.

I'll see your stale donut, and raise you 4 mouldy donuts.
Will try the codes in the Scan Gauge instructions and see if they work out. :icon_thumby:
Well, it's been a week and I'm still hungry for donuts! :p

Just curious... Any progress to report?

Thanks for asking...no, haven't taken the time to play with it yet. My own fault...just get tied up with stuff around the house.
Next few days lots of rain expected, and truck is in garage...I'll make time to "get her done".
Been to their web help site and have the codes to plug in, 3 or 4 I think, depending on what the unit accepts.

Not a problem, just curious. I took a closer look at the ScanGauge codes in the interim. Assuming that your 2009 Ranger uses CAN protocol on the PCM (almost a certainty), then there are just 4 combinations to test: 2 possible PCM CANbus addresses and 2 possible TFT PIDs, each PID using a different formula ("MTH") to decode the vehicle's reply. I have high hopes that it will work, whenever you get a chance. Fingers crossed....

"220, 221, whatever it takes."
As mentioned, the stock intake IS a cold air intake. Unless you have a need to look racy, just put a K&N replacement filter in the stock airbox.
Rangers are going to have a 2.0, 2.3, 2.8, 2.9, 3.0, or 4.0 liter engine. We're not talking big-block Chevy airflow here. Unless you're north of 4000 rpm your engine will never know the difference. Some airboxes or intake tubes have a silencer. Yank that out for a little better airflow.
