Are you just looking for something to read and clear codes?

Depending on your needs, you may not need anything that expensive. On an Android device, this works well with the Torque app for day to day use:

It looks higher priced than other Bluetooth interfaces, not sure why?

Make sure to get the extension cable with any Bluetooth reader, reason is, that on many vehicles the OBD port is not centered in the access panel opening, or is recessed a bit, so the Bluetooth reader won't fit/connect on its own, the extension cable can fit and the Reader can be plugged into that cable

Just the right size to touch the ground.
OBDLink MX+ or just the MX are my preferences. They can read the Ford MS-CAN and GM SW-CAN networks out of the box. Most of the cheaper adapters cannot. They come with pretty decent software and downloadable phone apps as well.

^+2 on the OBDLink MX/MX+. Works with Forscan, even with the basic(limited) license especially with Ford/Lincoln/Mercury/Mazda
