My Ranger is slow, that's for sure. According to my mechanic, the advantage of the 3.0 L V6 is that it will last forever.

The real differential tag also says: '7 5'. And where my AAA credit card outweighed common sense, I had a Yukon Gear and Axle limited slip rear differential installed. PNW Ranger

I checked the tag on the rear differential: 4 10

Gears are 4.10. Sometimes in wonder when I'm driving on the highway if the 3.0 L v6 might be happier with larger OD tires.

Yes, for the 1998 Ranger with an automatic transmission. Put the transmission into neutral, put foot on brake. The turn the knob from 4H to 4L.
