  1. 2011 Ranger XLT 4X4 - "Business Casual"

My '01 has that hood. It's not as light as you might expect from a fiberglass hood.
  2. 1988 Ranger Restoration - Keeping a Promise

Cool, didn't realize they had factory forged cranks. Most are not.
  3. 1988 Ranger Restoration - Keeping a Promise

Maybe for a modern engine or a purpose built engine designed with that in mind, but not a 30+ year old design never intended to be boosted. PJ seems to have all that figured out though.
  4. Hey Ford!!! Screw you guys!!!!

FWIW, my 2013 Focus (new era Escort) is at the dealer right now getting the DSP6 fixed under the TSB. It's at 104k miles and has had symptoms since I bought it at about 25k.
  5. Hey Ford!!! Screw you guys!!!!

That may be so, but I didn't see any diamonds on my 4.0 sohc washers. I think I'd still consider that a friction fit anyway though.
  6. 1988 Ranger Restoration - Keeping a Promise

I get it. You're doing it right as best as I can tell, but 21 psi is ALOT for a gasser. I realize tuning can help a lot with today's electronics and fuel injection though. I just don't think stock internals will not last long at that level. What crank are you using? Surely not the cast stock...
  7. Part Numbers for Motorcraft Products

Nice, I hope I remember this later. I'm sure I'll need it at some point.
  8. Hey Ford!!! Screw you guys!!!!

Thanks for giving the results. Some would probably claim that to be user error, I stand by my theory of design error.
  9. 1988 Ranger Restoration - Keeping a Promise

If it goes like I think it might, the window may not be optional.:ROFLMAO:
  10. Hey Ford!!! Screw you guys!!!!

LOL, I have lost nothing, but I do apologize for what was evidently considered a cheap shot. That was not the intent. The Mods can delete it if they choose. Maybe they already have, I'm not going back to look. I still don't like friction held timing gears and no amount of "science" is going...
  11. Hey Ford!!! Screw you guys!!!!

Lol, I like to think the 351 whipping the 1.5 around would cause some form of destruction. However, I'm willing to mount them both solid and see what happens too.
  12. Hey Ford!!! Screw you guys!!!!

Give me a long enough lever (gear) and I'll move the world. Possible, sure, practical, no.
  13. Hey Ford!!! Screw you guys!!!!

@8thTon for president, he knows all. Hell, why haven't you given the secret recipe for the COVID19 cure yet. As are you. Yes, gears make a subpar engine do the same work as the engine that should be doing the work. I concede. Tell you what, you build the baddest ass 1.5 turbo you can and I'll...
  14. Hey Ford!!! Screw you guys!!!!

LOL, yes you have the same hp output, but you're spinning more gears to get you there, more friction loss and heat so no, it's not quite that simple. Piston speed is greatly increased along with wear. Today's metallurgy allows some of this over yesterday's tech, but it would also hold true in...
  15. Hey Ford!!! Screw you guys!!!!

So a 1.5 liter engine spinning 10,000 RPM tp make 750 lb.ft. of torque and 600 hp is just as viable as a 7.3 liter engine spinning 3500 RPM to do the same work? If gears do not change the power "output" why are they needed? Gears do not change the power "input". Gears multiply or divide a...
