Hey there,
I have a 1990 Bronco II XLT 4x4 that has been edging ever closer to finish.
I've recently replaced the brakes almost in their entirety for the rear and still after bleeding the entire system have both the yellow and red brake lights illuminated and I now have a flashout CODE 4...
I have an update!
My RABS valve had ZERO flow to the rear so I replaced it and was able to successfully bleed the rear. Yet is still have a problem with parking and antilock lights being illuminated but before that here's what else I've replaced along the way to get these brakes back.
I...
Ill run it back up the line and replace as I go as I've always done because I tried to account for the old gal being a bit too mature from the purchase get go.
Do you know if the RABS valve can get stuck/not allow fluid to the rear? This seems to be a possibility via mass internet searches but I...
Well I pulled the line off and sprayed through it with brake cleaner and it was flowing it through. however i wasnt even getting a leak from the center hydraulic line that feeds the two rear lines.
So I pulled off the passenger line even though it was having some fluid in it because I realized...
The best Price and function for a rear set for me are the Monroe 58608 Monroe Load Adjust Shock Absorbers. That and a pair of RS9000XLs in front to adjust to taste depending on Load and terrain.
Just depends on you and your taste but Monroes are just fine especially if ya grab some coil overs...
Well I replaced the parking brake cable and was able to successfully finish rebuilding the passenger drum and placed the rotor on. I am still having brake issues as i cant bleed my driver side wheel cylinder but that's for another thread. This one is solved!!!
Thank You!!!
So I've officially finished rebuilding my passenger drum after replacing the siezed parking brake cable and so I began to bleed the brakes.
I bled the passenger wheel cylinder first and was able to get brake fluid to bleed through it. Upon cracking the bleed valve on the driver side wheel...
Alright well I cut the e brake cable on the passenger side cause it was so siezed up just to get it off the lever arm and out of the dust plate. New cable is arriving tomorrow.
Anybody have any idea why my parking brake control assembly/module doesn't lock in place? It actuates and pulls...
Does anyone know if this 1990 Bii Parking brake setup looks correct? I can't find a diagram anywhere of one like this. Any photos of 90 Bii or ranger Parking brakes out there to confirm this is setup right or wrong? This is how I got it.
Thank you for any info!
And I have my two rear cables on...
Check to see if your pump is priming at all and if it's not. Check under the passenger side of the dash under the glove box where your feet would go and pull back the carpet to reveal the cutoff switch. There is a unit with a red switch on top, this is the fuel pump shut off switch/inertia...
Well it's been 11 days and I need to update this thread to keep everyone that may be interested informed with what little info I have to offer at this exact time.
I replaced my catalytic converter with the Walker 80690 Calfit CARB Cat. It DID NOT bolt right up(as advertised) as you are...
So I've had an abs light and parking brake light on my dash since I got the old gal but she braked fine with fronts until now and ran unimpeded. Well I decided before taking her in for a smog since I just replaced the cat after a fail that I was going to safen her up and try to get at least one...
Magnaflow makes the MagnaFlow Direct-Fit Catalytic Converter California Grade CARB Compliant 333388 for the Bronco II. I'm super careful not to grab EPA even through they are so much cheaper than a CARB. I ordered a Walker Exhaust CalCat Carb 80690 Direct Fit Catalytic Converter. Best price I...
