so lately the truck has been having problems with holding constant oil pressure.
I ve decided ( mostly due to fear of other possibilities) that the problem is simply too much bad oil in the line and in the oil filter.

my buddy said to just put seafoam in it, so i went and grabbed a bottle. now i feel like a idiot cause it has no directions and im not sure wat to do, do i just pour it in the oil, run it, then change the oil?

help haha

Add it to your oil, run it for a bit, then drain your oil. It is 100% petroleum-based, so it wont dilute your oil. Their website says you can run it until your next oil change if you want.

do an oil change with a bottom of lucas oil stabilizer

I had low oil pressure in my dodge at stops and that helped...was prolly the oil pump going out,but i got rid of that truck so.

Hate to break it to you bud, but "too much bad oil in the line and filter"?!?

What line? You have a 2.9L, the filter adapter is part of the block. Also, and oil and filter change get about 95% or more of the old oil out of the engine. Since SeaFoam is a cleaning agent that is thinner than your oil it may not "dilute" it, but it will thin it, not helpful for the purposes of upping pressure.

My advice, dump your SeaFoam in, run it for a while. Let it idle for an hour, go for a nice drive through farm country, whatever, come back, add 3 or 4 more quarts of el-cheapo brand oil and set for a few hours. DON'T start the engine with it that over full, you WILL break expensive internal type things. Come back, change oil and filter, with 1 quart Lucas and 4 quarts 15-40, and an FL-1A oil filter.

Hopefully your pressure issues are just crap blocking the pickup tube. That should get most of it out.

adsm08 ,, nice that's what I did, obtained on mine and no oil pressure problem until now

if you oil change always more than normal in the engine, it will form small mountain of soot in the corner and eventually clog the pump any time

How many miles on the engine?
If there is a butt load, the mains are toast as far as clearance goes or the sump is plugged up.Drop the pan and find out what the problem is.
Mechanic in a can = snake oil....I dont care who makes it.

Lol...I got it out of my system and I feel better. I am not a fan of Seafoam. So many shops and truck shows and so many racers I know say it is not a great product. I have never had to use anything like that in any of my cars or trucks. I use Lucas products about three times a year that is added to the gas tank to clean my fuel system. That is something you need to do once in awhile....but, most gasoline has cleaning agents mixed in already. Lucas is the only thing I have ever used. My truck and my Jeeps run as new. I have never had an issue with the fuel systems on any thing I have ever owned.
