I was talking to a gearhead friend of mine and he said most people avoid liftin the 2wd trucks because it can screw up ur front end like cv joint wear and just odd things like that...any opinions?:icon_confused:

i have 2"coil spacers in the front of mine and the 4x4 spacer blocks between my rear springs and axle. after putting the spacers in the front i had an alignment done and have had no issues in 8,000 miles so far. I'd suggest the 3" front spindle lift, that's my next investment this summer.

no worse than lifting a 4wd... actually probably easier on the parts than a 4wd. as long as you don't try to run 37s on your ranger/b-series and you keep up with maintenance you will be fine.

Heim steering FTW :D

Wait....since when did 2wd trucks have CV boots in the front?
Cookie-As long as you have all the required hardware, and keep up on the maintenance, you will have no probs.

you're buddy may not be as much of a gearhead as he thinks.

Actually lifting my front end with a 3" spindle lift was probably the best thing to happen to my front end because it gives you the opportunity to change out the ball joints, tie rods, sway bar links and wheel bearings like I did. But seriously besides maybe needing an alignment to get it just right, lifting your truck with a spindle lift and shackles in the back doesn't hurt anything.

your buddy is the complete opposite of a gear head, dont ever take any advice from him. if he thinks 2wds have CV joints in the front he is either on some real good dope, or he's very stupid. im guessing the 2nd one

With lifted 2wds, you only have to worry about re-gearing one axle instead of two, you only have to worry about the working angles of one drive shaft, you don't have to worry about over stressed CV axles or breaking your transfer case. It's just less parts to worry about. Don't listen to your "gearhead" buddy. He doesn't sound like one at all.

Just be sure to keep your headlight fluid topped off and use rotor wash occasionally and you're good to go. :headbang:
