Just a quick question. What do you get when you take a $400 1987 Ranger here:
And the $150 1991 Explorer here:
You get project EXPLODING RANGER!!!!!
My plans for this is to swap the entire drivetrain from the Explorer to the Ranger. Dana 35, 8.8, and the 4.0 and transmission are going in. And if I get the chance I'm going to try to blow it up!!! J/K.... I don't really want to blow it up but I do want to build a serious offroad machine I can take down to my uncle's little playground in Gore, VA and maybe blow the doors off his jeep. If anybody gets the chance check out his website: http://bigdogsoffroad.com
But for now the only modifications I've made so far is mounting the bigger wheels and tires from the Exploder onto the Ranger. After I mounted them and took it down the road I noticed that the front tires rub the running boards while going around corners. The next mod will be to get rid of the boards and have a cleaner looking ride. And hopefully I can get more done in the weeks ahead if the weather decides to cooperate. It's been raining cats and dogs here for a couple days now.
