cold air intake, header, ngk plugs, 8mm wires, remove stock fan and replace with an electric one, free flowing exhaust, tornado, fuel line magnet, throttle body spacer, port and polish, adjustable cam gear, rub the truck down with baby oil.

well, all that will reduce the weight of your wallet, but it won't do much for anything else.

A "bolt on" would be a 2.3T for the power side. Better mileage comes from better driving and a well maintained vehicle.

May also want to consider...

sound system off, windows closed, gas tank empty and down hill driving whenever possible
