You can summer carry a commander size. I've seen people do it with a full size but it's easy for the muzzle to get uncovered. I generally prefer my 3". I don't have to worry about the shirt hiking up enough for it to be a potential problem. But a 4" commander is definitely do able.I may carry my commander in the winter. I'm not sure about summer. They say a hip holster isn't very easy to detect even with a full size.
