What is this? It’s 3’ diameter ball with ferny things growing out of it. The ball looks like part of the plant, not just a container. It’s sitting on a drainage grate that’s suspended by the neighboring trees.

A guess would be that it's a type of staghorn fern.

It doesn't look like it would be a comfortable swing, but it might be good for target practice since it will move around when you hit it...

you can get plant identifier apps for your phone, I have plant snap and another one. take a pic of the leaf, submit and it usually does fairly well at pulling up the plant

I have seek for a phone app. Works ok. A book to reference would be better. It doesn’t need batteries or a signal to work.

That’s just a funky thing. Are there any other plants out there that are self contained and don’t need to be planted? I think orchids are like that.
