This is a great project! I agree with don4331 features suggestions.

As for a name, how about Mercury Misaki? Misaki is a breed of pony. I did think of calling it the Mounty for the Canadian connection but... too much.

Maybe Mercury Vaquero?

Thought of Mounty also, I really like it!

LOL!
While I was preoccupied with coming up with a name for the project, had a little setback.
Topping off fluids and saw the coolant expansion tank was a little low, no visible coolant on the ground or in the engine bay so topped it off.
Ran it downtown and smelled coolant, it was leaking out of the cap. Stopped at NAPA and got the Safety cap listed for it, replaced it, wiped everything down, topped off the expansion tank again to the "cold" line for the drive home.
No leak's at the rad cap but about five rows down from the cap, its coming out again.
Guess its time to bite the bullet and look for a double row metal to replace this one that had plastic on the ends....

@PetroleumJunkie412 did you ever figure out all that mountaineer front end on a ranger we were discussing? I thought you figured out you needed doors from one also? The same way they did that svo v8 ranger with the exploder style front end.....
Still looking into this step PetroleumJunkie412. It does look like it will be alot of work to get things to line up....
I'll be looking at finding a donor Mountaineer that has a 8.8 with disc brakes and a decent Diff to replace my 7.5 open diff with 9in drums. Maybe I can find one that I can use the Radiator out of if I'm re-doing the front clip???

A little late to this thread but looked at synonyms for Ranger and came up with Musketeer.
Mercury Musketeer seems to fit! ;)
Appreciate the effort, but the Musketeers lost their shine for me after Errol Flynn past.....lol

I've been side tracked on assembling Mercury upgrades for a bit. Cooling system woes......
She never shiwed as hot, but I noticed the overflow tank was low. Filled her up before a trip downtown, then noticed a little coolant around the cap. Popped into Napa got a "Safety Cap," drove home guage registering the same as always, about 2/3rds (well below Hot).
Once home there was more fluid oozing out of the darn plastic tank of the rad about 4-5 inches below the neck......
New Motorcraft 195° thermostat and all aluminum 2-row rad got delivered, so I'm preparing to change out the old single row aluminum/plastic leaker. Did a very thorough Prestone Flush and multiple plain water refills to get things ready.
I also have been assembling some suspension upgrades (new 4/1 rear leafs to replace the tired 2/1 stock leafs that squat if I load the bed up).
Fingers crossed!

I dunno, Floored, I think it'd be rather crunchy. Granted, it would have a few different tastes, but none of them seem overly appealing. For example, the body would have a rather metallic taste, as would the suspension and drivetrain. The tires would taste like rubber. I think you get the picture.
