Is it possible to swap out a 2.9 to a 4.3 gm v6? And if so is there an adapter plate for it? I have this motor in my garage.

The 4.3 would rip your 2.9 tranny up. Get a tranny for the 4.3 that hooks to it, shares the same bolt pattern as the 350 (and maybe others).

As far as bolt in, no, but it can be done, I have seen 350's put under the hoods of rangers. The 4.3 is a 350 minus 2 cyclinders.

I have no problem with chevy engines....I just have problems with dodge engines and trannies until you get into the diesels.

Its your truck do what you want to it.

The 4.3 is a good engine but the 4.0 does the same thing and is easily swapped in.

well, he already has the motor, basically you would have to look up sbc swaps since they are basically the same, you'll have more room up front though :D

I know it's been a while, but did you ever complete this? If so any advice? I was just gifted a wrecked blazer that was running just fine before it wrecked and was wondering how hard it would be to swap into my bronco ii

It's been over 10 years, with no response. Probably didn't happen, or he's over on a Chevy forum.

My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
It's similar to a 350 as mentioned.

2wd or 4wd application? I would assume 4x4....but some b2 are 2wd.

Great engine. Tows better then a 4.0.

Exhaust manifold can be tricky, I originally in 92-93 was going to replace my 2.9 a-fail-od combo with a 4.3 5 speed setup.... As trading and parts swapping ensued I ended up with a 302 setup ... After trading a lt1 off ....

That be will be a beast with the 4.3.
