I found the window sticker in the owners manual. The car was originally sold here in Plano Texas. Looks like the price was $67k.

$67,000 in 2005 is worth $91,706.56 in 2021

OHHH... look at me. I’m from Texas where there’s no rust and we can just unbolt parts.

I’m actually a little jealous... It must be nice to be able to unbolt things without having to use the torch to heat/cut every rusted part.

We just impounded one of these yesterday (along with a Maserati) from a drug deal gone bad. Sorry, I’m not allowed to post pics of impounds, but it has big chrome wheels with rubber band tires.

I replaced the clockspring today. Now the horn works and the airbag light is out.

I also got it inspected today so I can get plates, and the seller can send the title.

Also washed it before heading to O'Reilly.

I also found someone in Dallas parting out Jags and got a right front inner fender, front license plate holder, and the plastic trim that goes over the radiator. A new inner fender is $200. I got the inner fender, radiator cover, and front license plate holder for $200. A lot of money for plastic.

I DID NOT get the:

P0568 - Speed Control Set Signal
P0628 - Fuel Pump A Control - Circuit Low

That the seller screenshot that he got.

I understand the lack of the Speed Control code since I changed the clock spring, but I'm surprised that I'm not getting the P0628 Fuel Pump Code.(?)

I had to tell my code reader what vehicle I had before it showed me the P1111 code. My scanner is saying 'Intake Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Intermittent High Voltage'.

When I search P1111 online I get 'System Pass'.

Jaguar XJ8 L Headliner

I took the headliner out of the Jaguar yesterday. I've read online where people say you have to take the rear or front windshield out to remove it. I got mine to slide out the back door. Mine is a XJ8L, so it's a bit longer body with a longer rear door.

For some reason Jaguar thought it would be a great idea to glue all of the wiring (courtesy lights, sunroof, rear break light) to the headliner instead of attaching it to the body of the car. You have to pull the front corners down to unplug the lighted mirrors, and then there's a plug at each corner of the headliner. The front ones are easy to get to, but you have to remove the seat to unplug the rear ones. Fawk that. I used a razor blade and removed the harness from the headliner and plan to stick it to the body. I had plans to troubleshoot the interior lighting when I took the headliner down, so I need the harness up there to do that.

I bought some headliner material from Hobby Lobby that's a pretty close match.

It's off slightly. My girlfriend and I shopped around for something a bit different, and then she found a material online. I ordered it and I'll decide when it gets here if I want to use it or the material I got from Hobby Lobby.

I got more parts waiting to go on the Jag.

(3) USB Dual Port Quick Charge ports to replace the cigarette lighter jack in the front of the console and the (2) on the rear of the console.
(1) Dual Cigarette Socket to go under the dash for my GPS to plug in to.
(4) LED toggle switches that will light up blue, red or green depending on which wire you ground.
(1) Nilight LED Lightbar mounting bracket for front license plate.
(1) Pair Nilight 7-Inch 85W 10,200 lumens spot / flood combo offroad light

The Moog boxes in the background are tie rod ends.

Those round offroad lights are the same diameter as my headlights. I wanted a bright offroad light for these 75 MPH rural Texas highways so I can spot deer, armadillos, wild hogs, loose cattle, etc, and wanted a light to match the Jaguar's round lights instead of a rectangular light bar.

I've got some wiring ahead of me.
