We had around 8" here, compressed a bit afterwards with a bunch of sleet on top. Heavy, nasty stuff to shovel. Between my parents house and a couple of other places to shovel, my back is not going to forgive me for a couple of days.

HOA at my girlfriend's house handles the street long before the county gets there. But that also meant everything got shoved up against the driveway before anyone could shovel out. That project alone was several hours.

This is why I bought snow blowers. The initial investment sucked but the greatly reduced back pain and less time out in the cold have been worth it.

I have a 2-stage for the heavy work and a single stage for mop up. Very little needs shoveled anymore.

I still spent 4 hours clearing snow yesterday but it was because I helped out the neighbors.

A snow blower would have been amazing yesterday, and I'd be stunned if there are any on the shelves in the area right now. If I were a few hours further north I might own one. But around here I could go years in between using it so it would be one more gas powered appliance to find a home for and clean out carb on each time. Maybe if I could find a simple corded electric one just to assist with the job occasionally? It would have to be something I could throw into the back of a shed for long periods of time and still expect to work.

Somewhere I saw they were coming out with battery ones.

The electric ones tend to be pretty small but better than nothing I suppose.

I would wait to see how they do. Batteries tend to not hold a full charge very well when they are cold. Part of the reason I still have jumper cables even though I have a battery pack. I’ve seen the battery packs fail when cold but come back to life when they get a chance to warm up.

No idea.

I don't have enough sidewalk to justify a blower and I have too much driveway.

The big takeaway is that I need to be in better shape.

I like the sound of that, but I'd need to be a lot further out of the city for that.

At this point, I'm just excited to see Ethan ride his electric motorcycle sometime soon. After my parts come in the next few days for the 48v lithium conversion and hydraulic disc brakes. Maybe I can put a plow on that?

If the snow isnt wet a leaf blower can be quite useful.

not a flake of snow here in the North East Indianapolis area. I think most of Indiana avoided the snow while Illinois and Ohio got 3 inches
