here in Commiefornia, they want your money and your blood. 50rd Box of crappy plinking .22LR? No problem, that'll be a couple of jacksons, a fingerprint, thumbprint, SS#, Mothers maiden name...and fill out this form and sign this record book. Oh and we have to do a background check, wait here for about 30-45 mins. Oh and there's a $10 fee for all this. Limit one box per transaction.
You spelled it wrong: Californication

No problem here aside from the mild price increase over precovid and slugs. Lgs started carrying some venom brand 9mm for 26cpr. Always in stock and no problems. Bricks of steel case .223 for $330, cci .22lr for 6cpr, 7.62x39, .357 magnum, 12ga target bird and buck. Even had some .50bmg in stock last time i was in. .380 has always been a pricey round.

It's slightly less bad outside of Los Angeles county.

I sort of have a theory. Most guns (and ammo) used violently by criminals are stolen from law abiding gun owners. If we don't have ammo, neither do they, which renders the gun useless. Maybe it will result in less home invasions and gun theft too lol.

Get a Rifle with a bayonet. It will still be useful for something other than a club after the ammo runs out.

I’ve always said “Guns don’t kill people, bullets do”.

Though not the newest post,

I have found over the past 2 months some respectable ammo sales. I am plugged into about 5-6 online gun and ammo distributors. They fill my mailbox with stuff I do not necessarily want but about once every other week, there is one deal that is worth reading.

Right now from PSA, 1,000 rounds 9mm for $299.00. Not the greatest but good enough for my range finger itch.

Last week there were two specials on .223, one was $7.50/20 round box the other was $39.99/100 round box; both 62 grain in brass. Not show stoppers but good enough for me.

The lack of stock issue has gotten better for sure. I still choked at the cost of a 20 round box of hunting ammunition though. Still more expensive that it should be.

Cost of ammo does not concern me much except 12 gauge bird shot for skeet shooting... I was used to paying $20 for 100 shells and now it's almost double that.

I reload everything else and I am good on components for the moment but I'll be hurting when I need to restock. $40+/lb for powder and $100+ /k for primers is crazy. Saw lots of both at the gun show last weekend and they were NOT selling.
