Started off learning what I know from being a gogher/helper. Then from necessity when I couldn't afford repair bills. Turns out I LIKE working on my own cars. (some guys think it's cool)
Mostly I've had GM or Dodge trucks, a couple Mitsubishi Eclipses. This is my first Ford and boy has been neglected. Wish me luck!!

Welcome to TRS, Daddygirl64!

You’ve been blessed, so ask any questions you need to in the Explorer section, and I’m sure you’ll be helped.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

I've heard that before; don't know what it means, but definitely have heard that before.

It's called Ave Maria. The song is a celebration of the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ. Many composers have set the words to music and every version I have heard or sung is absolutely beautiful.

Translation:

Hail Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
now and in the hour of our death.
Amen.

Do I ask from here or is there another section? I'm better at getting greasy than I am at modern technology.

Welcome. I am new here also but appreciate the communities kindness and ability to handle my dumb questions.
This is the introduction section. Usually if you have specific questions it is best to post them in the proper subforum. For example if its a 4.0L engine question there is a specific subforum for it. Axles, electrical you name it there are all specific areas for them.

Welcome to the show. Chicks working on their rigs is way cool. 👍🏼 At the top of the forums page just scroll down and you will find multiple forums for different subjects and vehicles. It’s a veritable buffet of topics and rigs. Ask and share at will. Again, welcome.

If your vehicle is an Explorer as in your profile, you’d ask general Explorer questions there. Engine, transmission, suspension, and a lot lot of other categories are all listed on the home forum page.

Just scroll through the categories until you find the best fit for your question.

If you get it wrong it’ll be redirected to the proper place, so don’t worry, there’s lots of knowledge and experience here. A little quirkiness, too, I hope you’re cool with that. 🙂

Welcome to the forum. The fact that you are a girl doesn't mater. Your vehicle doesn't care either. They break and need fixed regardless of gender. The fact that you are interested in learning to fix it yourself is all that matters. There is a lot of guys that don't even have that much interest in doing that. It makes you knowledgeable and independent and keeps shops from taking advantage of you just because you are a female. I wish more females would learn about their vehicles.
