How does this apply to the government? For instance traffic cams or more specific red light cams. Around here there are no signs or notifications that cameras are in use and they are not easy to see unless you know where and what to look for.
So if I got a ticket for running a redlight and the evidence was the camera footage, wouldn't that be inadmissible in court since I was in a public area and the camera was not posted with a sign?
No, it falls in to Public areas where there is less expectation of privacy, but courts can rule some of these types of video as inadmissible but they usually are admissible as a "public good", like cops hiding behind bushes with radar gun, lol
Its becoming more acceptable to have dash cams and street cams, and these are often used in court cases now-a-days
The common thread is that its YOUR CHOICE to be in a Public area, so you are voluntarily giving up the expectation of privacy
If you get a picture in the mail and a fine of say $100 for running a red light
Then just send them a PICTURE of $100 and say paid in full
Doesn't work but its funny, lol
