Don't drive off with the wrench on the bumper though...
I've done that too many times to count. I always find them there after too....
If they aren't there then some asshole stole them...lol

Loaded mine up to take the SxS out today. Was way muddy and no one was there. I mean no one.

That was a mockup to make sure that it worked, wrench is safely stored in the toolbox

My project ended up with a rain delay. Got one valve cover gasket done though. Happy with the fact that it’s going back together finally, but annoyed at the weather delay, plus the next day or two will probably be out at the girlfriends, so no work on the Ranger

New seats are in and seem to fit well enough to warrant covers.

Well that totally explains why the passenger door wouldn't go shut...

I got them from my FIL' s '91, they were comfy in there but I worry about first to second gen dash differences.
Yup, that's why the passenger door wouldn't close.

The dash differences shouldn't matter. The only thing that might matter is the gear shift (Why on earth did Ford bend the shifter like that in the first gens, anyway? It made the middle seat useless, because with somebody sitting there, you couldn't use second, fourth or reverse.

New seats are in and seem to fit well enough to warrant covers.

Yes that's the right way to install them.

They look good in there, although they'd look better if they matched the interior.

Previous bucket seat attempts failed because they put me too close to the dash and steering wheel.

I got tired of dragging home seats at $60/pr so I gave up on the venture until these came along.

I am going to get covers so they match.

Took mine on a trip to the Chiropractor's Office. Saturday's wood cutting and splitting fun did a number on my back. I'm much better now.

That's new block, crank, rods, pistons camshaft, heads, timing cover, balancer and oil pan all together finally. Ready to flip over and put in all the valvetrain, intake then back in the truck it goes.

Started modifying the front end. I haven’t bought a bender, tube or nitrogen and shim packs to install the coil overs yet. So I’m just gonna run the 4” lift coils until then.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Went back to Hurricane Creek trail in NC. I had tried to map it last time with the new BFG Ontrail navigation app. But I missed the first mile. I have been in contact with the app developers, giving feedback and learning how to use the app. It has been a fun experience working with them. Anyway. Today I properly mapped the whole road, plus another road (Wesley Creek Rd) that intersects with Hurricane Creek Trail. The results are pretty cool. Now I have two trails published in the app.

I also made camping reservations at Uwharrie for this weekend. 2 nights of camping, one day of serious wheeling.

My credo
Lord God is my guardian
Drove my ranger today after it sitting for 5 days. Stopped by my friend's convenient store, came outside to leave..this 80's ranger was parked beside mine. The owner was standing by his truck, I started mine and his mouth opened asking what I have in mine told him 3.0 with a flowmaster 40. He absolutely loved the way it sounds. He asked what can he do to make a 2.9 sound like that. Said to him trade that 2.9 for a 3.0..he laughed, great guy. We spoke for a bit, I told him about trs and there are 2.9 owners that can assist with all his questions.
