I like the idea of it.. An all wheel drive, low-slung sport struck, turbocharged.. Throw some wide rims on it with some sticky street tires and it could be a blast. But it is a unibody "truck" so payload is shite.

Once I see them in person, I'll probably change my mind. The styling is also kind of blah..

I'd rather ford offer us something that's actually useful, like an Australian ute.

I like the Maverick idea, same size as our extend cab Rangers, weights about 300lbs more on average

FWD hybrid, unibody crew cab, 500mile range estimate with 40mpg gas/electric
Ticks alot of boxes for me and what I use my current Ranger for
FWD would easily get me where I need to go without having to shift to 4WD on slippery muddy or snowy roads

And they added a new color, Rapid Red, and I like it, lol

I am on the fence about it. do we really need a 3rd truck? I guess sales will be the deciding factor

But that blue ute is a wild looking ride, back to the ranchero and camino days and a sporty looking upgrade.

I'll be keepin my 98 Ranger and 04 Lightning. I can work on and fix just about anything on both. Doubt that's the case with this new one.

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.

Wide rims, probably. Sticky tires though.. not going to need them. The turbo mav is only going to put around 200hp/tq to the wheels after its AWD saps the rest. It's going to need some help to be quick by todays standards.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Although it’s not what I would want for a “truck”, it would serve 80-90% of my needs as a daily driver and it would be economical.

I'd still go wide for the stance, but if you need to keep corner speed then....

If it’s got the same horsepower/torque as my wife’s Bronco Sport 2.0l, it will surprise you. It’s no race car, but it should run the 1/4 in the low 15s maybe high 14s.

Not with 4 doors... why ruin a good name? Really, there's a world full of names, stop ruining the old school legacy.

As long as the keep the "off road" packages away from it, I like it. I don't see the sense in making"100" off road variants of the same truck like they did with the Ranger. Here's a cool rendering from Motor Trend.
