My credo
Giving my truck more money than it deserves.
I know its common knowledge to pull your friends out going forward. Today I took this picture because I find it more intuitive to understanding why.

Left is reverse. Right is 1st. The forward gears are much beefier :)

Retired the Ranger from daily driver duty. Switched the car seat back to the '150 and gave the Ranger a bath to start getting it ready for a show and shine Thursday night.

Two weeks and it didn't miss a beat. :icon_thumby:

When it comes to helical threads, my understanding is fine thread is stronger than coarse. I dont know if that follows to gears tho.

My credo
Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Doing ok, wouldn't say I am good...I am surviving as I can each day.
I'm glad your doing OK. I hope life gets better for you a little bit day by day.

Well, because of rain, I didn’t get to work on the Rangers like I wanted to (really need a garage, but think I really need a backhoe first to do the dirt work). Maybe after church this morning I can start bending wrenches.

Last evening I went to a graduation party for the pastors daughter (free hot sausage sandwiches, lol) and as it happens, I ended up making a friend. Pretty cool dude, got a lot of the same interests and he has a new Mazda 3 which is a vehicle I’ve been considering adding to my fleet…

Drove the 2011 home from SAR training. The filter works! All that I’m picking up now is some mild ignition noise. I’ll research that and see if there is anything worth doing. But progress has been made.

Drove to the desert this weekend to pickup my other 3.0 package to deliver at my friend's shop for storage this week. Will be loaded soon into the bed of my 94, and will instantly have a v12...😎

@Dirtman didn't know you could be amused so easily. Just to really get you excited I'm going to check the air in the tires today. You may just want to head down to the basement after that one.(y)

Took it for a drive. I have realized that this 24+ year old truck with 194k miles on it drives and accelerates better than my 11 year old Buick Lucerne with only 113k on it... and gets only a little bit worse gas mileage

Put my handy dandy Harbor freight tire mounting system together, dismounted a 31" tire from a Jeep rim. Need to clean up my extra Ranger rim and I will have 2 full size 31" spares.

Got started on the green Ranger again. Got everything set back up, got organized and oriented again. Got a little work done. Lot left to do but I’m feeling pretty good about the project right now, just have to do a little more tear-down on the motor and it will be all re-assembly until I get to the rear axle.

Technically, that would be a twin engine. To be a V12, the two engines would have to be bolted together, end to end.

I keep seeing you mention your Buick Lucerne, and thinking you sound like somebody on another forum. Except that he has three or so fourth generation Tauruses (Taurii?), the Buick, and probably doesn't have a Ranger. You, on the other hand, have at least one Ranger, the Buick, and probably don't have any Tauruses.
