Where does the computer get it's ground from? Is it from the engine bay distribution box? Then mount for the ecm is broken on one side so it's not held in very tight. Is it possible for the computer to complete come off and on in the matter of 1-2 seconds?

I'm going to try and fix the code 18c first but I'm having a lot of trouble finding the spout connecter. I check along the main harness in the middle of the engine bay, then I check the passenger side by the battery and fuse box. Then I checked the driver side area but still didn't find it. Would anyone know precisely where it is?

SPOUT connector will be a pink wire in and out, comes from pin 5 on the ICM, goes to pin 36 on the computer

The tach signal is pin 12 a Black/yellow wire that changes to Tan/yellow at the firewall so tan/yellow at the cluster

Computer has several grounds, pins 20, 40, and 60 should be grounds, it doesn't use clamps or bolts for grounds, but 20 is the case's ground
Pins 37 and 57 are Key On 12v

Thank you RonD, when I go into work tonight I'll record me hitting the train tracks and hopefully catch the problem on video.

RonD I want to thank you for all the help, but I'm calling it on my ranger. After I went to go save my brother's Chevy on the side of the road, I turned my truck off since I don't have a parking break. The truck won't start or crank, and I'm just done with it. It's let me down too many times, and I'm just can't justify spending the money on it anymore. If I can get it running I'm going to sell it as a project, if not it's probably going to the scrap yard. They are good trucks but it's just too old and the previous owners just beat it to hard.

Yeah I'm going to sell it cheap and give someone with more time and money a good project.
