My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I'd have to go camping every weekend if I had that.

Very nice!

My Explorer 8.8 has a big nubs like for the F-150 brackets. Which have a ton of potential BUT interfere with the PS shock.

F-150 bracket shown:

So I cut the locator bits off the clamps to make a king size version of the Ranger hardware:

And I think it is going to work!

I need to enlarge the one radius where the clamp goes over the center section, clean and paint and check that off the list.

I don't mean to brag but I picked up a Remington 700 for my truck today

Its been eons but I have a blank window sheet for 85 Mustang that I have been meaning to find a typewriter for so I could fill it out as kind of a show thing but with all the extra crap I have done to my truck listed like it came that way. I was looking at it on a garage sale and the lady said just take it, I don't want to bring it back in the house. Works perfect after I figured it out, came with a case too.

Yeah, uh... not the first time that has happened.

I only need it for the one sheet, after that I will probably be doing the same thing...

EDIT: This started in 2018 apparently:

Seems like I was just here...

I need to clean the threads on the links but it looks like the say bar is going to fit uneventfully after I get the parking brake cable bracket out of the way.

And I got a bit done on my bumper:

I got my dad to do the welding...

What's the width on top out at the ends of your bumper? My AOR is pretty narrow... looks way more narrow then yours. I had to stand off my hinge on the face to even make it work. You planning to weld the hinge on top?

What series Deere is that in the background? My grandad had a 4230 I ran as a teenager. It was a 4 post canopy with a straight exhaust. Talk about loud!

Yeah, it’s going to be on top.

I changed the angles on the bottom after I marked it out to cut it but the rest is still accurate:

And up, it is going to sit on the top:

The big one up close is a 4450 that is going back together after getting a new clutch.

There is a 730 diesel behind it with major transmission issues (locks into two gears), an old A beside that (kinda hiding behind the toolbox) with low oil pressure and a 4010 off to the far right getting an overhaul.

A 4010, you don't see many of them.... The 4020 took it over due to something about the PTO coming out or something if I remember right.

I thought the 50 series had the "permaclutch"? Isn't it a wet clutch that is supposed to last forever? (Of course nothing is forever....)

There are still quite a few 4010's kicking around. PTO is similar with a 4020, Trans is weaker, differential is weaker, engine has smaller bores (but will take 4020 sleeves/pistons), hydraulics are different, frame has four less bolts holding it to the engine and a bunch of other tweaks too. 4020 is just an updated 4010. 4020's changed a lot in '69 but they didn't change the name that time. And then for ‘73 the 4020 evolved into the 4230 you used to run...

Permaclutches do hold up very well. The tractor is over 30 years old though and when your loader tractor moonlights as a grain truck... things don't exactly last forever. He has hired help which doesn't help anything that way either.

I went ahead and dropped the fuel tank which needed done to change the fuel pump and pretty much have the rear sway bar mounted. I need to get slightly longer bolts to tie the sway bar to the links but otherwise it is in.

Also rinsed 3-4 years of gravel dust off the fuel tank so I don't drop a bunch of crud in it when I pull the old sender out:

And the bottom plates are fitted for my bumper:
