I've been using the Northern V8 conversion radiator since December of 2018 & it fits & works great. The Northern fits perfectly in the front supports. A small 14" 1,650 cfm electric fan kept the temperature between 185-195 degrees this summer even on 98 degree days with a 185 degree thermostat & temp switch. If the temperature was under 90 degrees outside my engine would run around 180-185. I may upgrade to a 16" fan, but haven't had any cooling issues so far.

Suppose there is enough room ahead of it for a A/C condenser?

When I first got my truck back on the road you could smell gas when it was parked, but never while driving. I used to only have a dust filter on the fuel cell vent & it allowed a lot of fumes to escape. I added a couple loops in the vent line & it took care of the gas fume problem. Now there's no gas smell at all. I plan to upgrade to a better fuel cell & reroute the vent tube. When I upgrade the cell I may add a charcoal canister.

Explorers (and maybe second gens) have a bracket to mount it on the drivers side fender if that helps you any.

I haven't delved too deep into it but I would like to figure out some kind of standalone thing to vent the canister that doesn't require a computer. Not much info out there about such a lowly device and I have bigger fish to fry at the moment. Gas fumes are not horrible but in my quest to "make it look like it came that way" it is something on my radar.

That is a first gen (91-94) Explorer. 1993 to be exact.

A second gen Ranger (89-92) Ranger is kind of similar generally.

One on cannister intake.

One on feed to intake tube.

R these made for these cannisters?I think relocating it to the passenger side right across from where it is now may work.just need to get rid of the oem battery tray.its a mirror image of driver side where it mounts now.
