Are dump trucks responsible for windshields?

That sounds like it was stress induced. Some vehicle models are notorious for it. The windshield will crack for no apparent reason. I think the Toyota FJs (the new ones, not the old ones) were one of the models known for that. Something in the way they were designed.

That's what they said as well. They did a complete redo, of everything in the windshield area. Practically took it down to bare metal. Took a lot longer than the first time. This was in 2015. Hasn't happened again since.

Well, windshield is done. The tint isn't exactly what I wanted but that's my mistake. I thought the higher the % the darker the tint so I went with 50%. Should have went with 20%. But eh, it works.

the % is how much light comes through the tint, so the higher the %, the more light.

How often do you actually look through the "eye brow" though? That thing could be 5% and nobody would know the difference. Side windows are a different story, 30-20% should be enough. I've seen some trucks with white vinyl down to the AS1 line. IDK if that's legal or not, but I have seen it.

Vehicles with flat glass crack easier than curved.

I do most of my lookin' thru the eyebrow.

My BIL has the eyebrow tinted on his Sport-Trac and it drives me nuts.

Ahhh... yea I just call that "the top of the windshield" :icon_rofl:

Ranger windshields are pretty vertical, with my 3" tint I cant even tell a difference in my field of vision except hopefully getting rid of some of that morning sun glare.

I've always preferred the eyebrow tint but I'm short enough that I'm not looking through it to drive.
