Ok. This is the intake valve and piston number one on my 2000 Honda Accord 2.3 ULEV. Motor was completely carbon fouled, and intake valves were crusted over. 211,000 on the odometer, and the car has never had a carbon, fuel, or intake cleaning product through it.

One can of jectron on one tank of fuel, followed by a can of their intake valve cleaner.

Intake valve is top left corner. Was completely coked over.

Removed over 80% of the carbon from the piston tops. Intake valves are like new.

Sh*t just f*cking works.

Will post a few photos of the Liqui Moly cans.

Okay, so if I read that right you used two different products. Which one works?

Okay, so if I read that right you used two different products. Which one works?
It sounds to me like the two products are meant to be used as a set. You run a tank with the fuel additive, which softens the carbon on the valves for a week or so, then run the top end cleaner to finish the job.

Like putting concrete cleaner down before hitting it with the pressure washer.

A lot of these types of products are meant to be used that way, if you read the fine print.

Amazon link to jectron - autozone carries it as well

Their valve cleaner. Never heard.of it or saw it in a store before. But uh, yeah, apparently works.

Another of theirs I'll run in oil changes. Was developed for use in battlefield machinery so that if you took a round to the oil pan, you could still run away / land. No idea if it works, but some reasonably good testing showing it does.

Someone out there mind verifying these ones? If you're in/around Pittsburgh, will lend out my snake camera.

I've been wanting to scope my cylinders to see how much carbon there seems to be in them to know if I need to do this because of my Pinging with low octane but alas no luck getting my hands on a scope to do so.

I have seen others scope their cylinders and use Seafoam to some good effect.
