Better than the boring crap around it! If I see another charger at a car show I'm gonna spit on it...

The guy running the show came up to me afterwards and told me he wanted to give me best in show "Just for getting that rusty deathtrap going and driving her 30 miles to the show". It was my daily before I bought the ranger. Only replaced it because it is in desperate need of a rebuild.

Had one in 1980. Tough little car, never let me down.
Been a Subi owner for years now. I'm on my third (forth if I count the Brat), and wife is on her forth Outback.

I always liked the outbacks just could never justify a need to own one.

Have my Crosstrek that we tow as a dingy behind the motor home.
And somehow my wife found a way to justify getting rid of her 2010 and getting a new Outback Touring.
My old Brat was the basic, but would go just about anywhere. Was in So. Fla at the time, and only thing I missed was no AC.
Subarute, you have a nice survivor there.

In some portions of the country, people actually pay good money for their vehicles to look like that. I think the Las Vegas/Reno area is one.

I'd love an old Subaru Brat, odd car but much better than what they call pickup trucks now I think the bed on that Brat is probably longer than the new Ranger bed LOL. Back when Subaru had an actual 4WD system rather than the AWD crap that every automaker is trying to claim as the best out there LOL. Pull a lever its in 4WD, and back then they actually had low range in the Subaru's, at least some of them....also wouldn't mind a Subaru Justy and an old Subaru GL 4WD Wagon. All with manual transmissions of course...and I recently found that the Subaru Justy was available with a manual transmission or a CVT...and automakers try to claim the CVT is some brand new concept in cars LOL.

Actually the 4wd system Subaru used back then essentially WAS a part time all wheel drive system. The term AWD hadn't been invented yet so it was referred to as either 4wd or Bi-Drive, Hence the name of the Brat (Stands for 'Bi-drive Recreational all-terrain transporter'). As for cvt, the dutch were doing that way back in the 60s.

I like the Subaru Brat, but your comment on bed size has no grounding in reality. Why do you think the new Rangers have tiny beds?

The low range on the old Subaru's was only a tiny bit below the high range. Something like 1.2:1 (compared to 2.48:1 on a typical Ranger transfer case). Not even close.

CVT has been the transmission of the future for decades now. Subaru was one of the early pioneers. They've started pushing it a lot more in the last few, but definitely not new. If they can ever make it truly reliable it'll be something worth talking about.
