Did not know that. sorry but my family has killed a few of those things?‍♂
Happens. They have to hibernate (toss them in the fridge 3-4 months) in winter, need distilled water, kept slightly boggy, and need 10-14 hours of direct sunlight. Mine live outdoors in PA in a bog garden with a heater that keeps it at 38f all winter. They're in bloom right now.

Do they get enough bugs naturally? Or do you have to feed them?

Haven't had a single stunk but crawling around in years. Pitchers are always packed full of corpses.

I've heard that stunk but's (whatever that is) congregate near stock piles of 2.9L stuff... Maybe that's why I have no idea of what they are.

When I come to serve the doughnuts, I'm bringing a sign that says "Krispy Kreme." that's how many you're getting. ?

Oh no. Rusty, gaz, Paulos, nez, and a few others represent the 2.9 mafia.

So... I'm bringing this back up.

The wife just left to see the lawyer and sign a purchase agreement on our pizzeria. Ironically... today is the seventh anniversary of our purchase day (we bought it New Years Eve 2013). The purchase agreement gives the buyer until the end of February to complete the purchase and a clause that if he doesn't close the deal... he pays us a 15% penalty to us on the total purchase price. So it has financial impacts if he drags his feet or backs out and it will be a pretty nice pay day for us for just doing what we always do anyway.

Closing out the strangest year I can remember... with lock downs.... food shortages... riots and looting... burning down cities... and the list goes on and on... it ended on a pretty high note for us. Don't think it was easy and thank goodness for the PPP monies the government handed out. Without that our outcome would have been very different. We used that money exactly the way it was supposed to be used and also provided literally thousands of free meals to first responders... hospitals... school lunch programs and local community outreach programs when we weren't exactly sure how we could survive it all. I'm a firm believer in paying it forward and we feel totally blessed to have this outcome when there is still a struggle for so many people.

As good as it turned out... I'm still ready to put 2020 behind us and hopefully 2021 is a better year for everyone.

Happy New Year!

That’s great news. You can monetize your hard work in the last few years and move on.

You could grow cucumbers (55-60 days to harvest) but they’ve got to be planted in warm ground (70*). Plant under thick black plastic put down early, to warm the soil. You could have a pickle brinery shed. To fight the National Pickle Shortage. 👍

You could even grow potatoes in that climate.

Michigan soil temps are cool enough that you might consider a root cellar.

A good resource for tractor related info is mytractorforumdotcom.

Good Luck!

A few thoughts:

Ditto on coming to Georgia. Still a land of opportunity. & we could use some good Chicago pizza. Harder to get the ingredients here. I came in ‘79 with Frito Lay. I hated them and they hated me for 2-1/2 years, but never looked back on coming to Georgia.

Georgia is a no-pasties-required state.

You can buy twice the house in a better, safe neighborhood.

I’m sincerely troubled with your story - He works in mysterious ways. Always say a little prayer when I hear of such things. But He also helps those who help themselves. & nuthin is deader than the past. Make your move.

🤔 One afterthought on Chicago Pizza: what are you putting in your pies that makes your customers.... Could we send some to Washington?

Good luck!

Oh boy...

I just got an email from the prospective buyer for my pizza shop. He needs a notarized letter of intent for his bank loan. Now I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to selling a business... but my gut feeling just hit the holy smokes... this deal is gonna happen level.
I’ve been a broker for a while and I’ve closed a deal or two.... My 2 cents:

(1) be very wary of last minute deals before Holidays because of the “bank.” Banks don’t press deadlines late in the day before holidays. It’s like selling a collector car after 5 on a Friday night for a cashiers check: make sure it’s on soft paper! Watch out for a scam, don’t sign anything under pressure. If it’s a fair, real good deal, it’ll still be there on Monday.

(2) Lawyers work for themselves. Helping you (or not) is simply a necessary evil in their development of richs. Consider this: are you great at what you do? We all are at something. How many folks in your profession don’t have a clue, total screw ups? What makes you think it’s different with lawyers.

(3) there is no such thing as a “boiler plate” commercial contract. Form contracts protect the lawyers and the folks who sell form contracts. A good contract spells out all the pros and cons and details and escrow and payments in PLAIN ENGLISH. If you personally don’t understand anything, have it RE-written to where YOU personally understand what is written down. Never sign because your guy or their guy says “that means this.” If that’s what it means, write it that way.

(4) as you might imagine I could go on for 100 pages. Let me offer this, without any strings attached, obviously I have no dog in the hunt, and I’m not looking for a penny. If you would like to email me the documents, I’ll be happy to chat with you about everything and what it means. I am really not looking for anything. My business is a referral business, and if I can help you, you’ll tell someone else... & all confidential.

Pray for His guidance, andGood luck!
