Can anybody definitively confirm what rear windshields fit what? I have an 87 supercab and would like to install the 03ish style slider window. I've read that theyre both bolt-in (not grommet fit like the early standard cabs) but according to the interchange database the local junkyards use, they wont work. I'm assuming that they are the right size and shape, they just list it as incompatible because theyre different?

do any of the bolt-in style rear windshields fit in place of any other bolt-in style?

what options do i have for my 87 supercab besides other first gen supercabs?

I'm not sure about the interchange for the windows from year to year, but my 87 has the same style of single-pane slider I have seen in the later Rangers, rather than the twin-sliders used in the F-series.

perfect, thats exactly what i was looking for. i found a pic of your truck where the rear slider is clearly visible, it looks exactly like the one i wanted to use (the ones that come in the 98+ rangers) so im fairly confident they will swap. 97 and older rangers (including mine) have the 2 piece sliders like the ones you described for the f-series.

I know some of the older trucks had the 2-piece, but not all of them.

As far as I know mine is the factory original. It was installed no later than 11/88, because I know it has not been replaced since my family has owned the truck.

I had a rear window from I think a 93 in my last 88. So I know it at least works into those years. I can't see why Ford would have changed it except maybe for the regular cab 98+.

1993 to 1997 REGULAR Cabs used a gasket to hold in the rear window so are interchangeable only within those years
1998 and up REGULAR Cab used bolt in rear windows
1993 and up EXTENDED Cab used bolt in windows
ALL bolt in windows are interchangeable including Slider rear windows
So your 1998 will have a bolt in rear window, regular or extended cab wouldn't matter, so...........................
You can used the rear window from a 1993 and up extended cab, OR 1998 and up Regular cab, Ranger or Mazda B-series, you can NOT used a 1993-1997 regular cab rear window
Interesting. The rear slider window from a 2005 bolted right into my 1996 extended cab. the new part was identical
