I have a bone stock 1996 Ranger with the automatic hubs. My right hub just shot craps, so I want to change out to Warn manual hubs. The Warn hub by application would be the #29071. I have read several times on this site about using the stronger Jeep hubs #37780. Will they fit through the center of my stock alloy wheels?? The Warn site says that for the #37780 the the wheel center has to be at least 2.80". I measured my wheels and they are 2 3/4" or 2.75". Has anybody come across this before?? Has anybody done this swap before?? Nobody has these hubs in stock locally, and I can get them cheaper mail order or on ebay anyway, so I do not have them in hand to do a physical check... Any help would be appreciated because I need to buy some new hubs ASAP... Thanks....

The Warn site says you need 2.800 inches, and you measured 2.750?

The answer would seem obvious. 50 thousandths is more than a millimeter.

even milemarker hubs from autozone are a upgrade over stock auto hubs, much cheaper than warn's also. ive had mine on its second winter with no issues. and they clear the wheel centers on both sets of rims. (stock alloys and jeep wrangler winter wheels)

They are physically 100%, absolutely, entirely, completely, fully, without a doubt, identical in size & shape as the stock Ranger hubs :icon_thumby:

If your truck is bone stock though (stock size tires), I would think the standard 29071 hubs would be plenty (that is, unless you're thinking of putting on bigger tires and a locker in the diff)

Moved to the correct forum (Please don't make multiple posts in multiple forums, only one in the correct forum is needed to get your Q answered).

x2. I've held both in my hands at the same time, as well as taken some measurements.

You'll also be quite surprised at the difference in weight between the 29071 and the 37780.
