D35 swop need help

Be it explorer or ranger they are the same width. My spare axle shafts are from explorers and they fit my ranger d35 just fine

what drop bracket is goin to hit the one thats next to the oil pan?can eny one show me a pic, im pretty sure i know what you guys are talking about , just want to make sure a pic would be nice.. thanks

The lift kits that use a flat plate for the passenger beam bracket are the ones that hit the diff. IE Rough Country, Trailmaster, BDS, Old School Superlift.

dont know what 6 inch lift i have it is alumanum plating and the one is flat, the kit is from the 80s,iv always wounderd what kit i have? i have a trail tuff sticker on the rear bumper what ever old school brand that is? maybe rough county or some thing,

Is the bracket still an issue running 4" brackets with 6" coils?

i dont know ill find out when shes in, it wont be for awhile i need to get the gears,LS,or locker, and do all new ball-joints,seals,bearings all the stuff i just got done doin to my d28, and i just got warn hubs to but i can sale those to some one on here,i think im going to go with the jeep warn hubs, i was reading on her that they are way stronger then the normal lock outs.just want every thing brand new in the rear and front be for it goes in the ANGER

THIS is why a D-35 is good to put in...

That is what happens when you lock a D-28 and run 33's. Take note, that was a brand new U-joint with less than 50 miles on it and it DIDN'T spit a cap, all four caps are still there. It just broke the ears off the stub and snapped the splines off in the diff...

Which left me like this... and calling a buddy for a strap out... which cost me beer and pizza as repayment.

im locking the d35 that im puttin in not the d28.the 28 cant handle all that...

yea it still wacks a hole in it. 4 inch brackets and 4 inch coils would be pretty much resting on it.

The Ranger and Exploder d-35s are a different width. I can prove it for you if you'ld like. I have a Ranger beam in my back yard right now, Of course it is under about three feet of packed snow but, I would dig it out to prove a point.

Yeah, probably got a bunk beam there.
Everything is exactly the same (I have a mix of Ranger & Explorer shafts in mine, too).

Post up some pics of your lift's brackets, someone might be able to recognize them and tell you what they are.

so would you grind some of the corner off of the bracket? i got the same tipe bracket on mine, doesent SJ use a different style bracket.

SJ:

Grinding on yours might get you a little bit more clearance, but it will not eliminate the problem entirely.

i dunno dude.....i have made many a d35 shaft look like that

WITH AN OPENFRONT DIFF:scare:. locked the splines are history if i let the ponies run

if you modify the system to actually travel all the diff side brackets will destroy the pumpkin if you dont physically limit it from happening.
