Yes the 2.3 sucks in the mud, gotta stay in low range just to keep the tires spinning.
 
agreed. thats a big tire for a 2.3. my 4.0 does good but that engine is a beast. ive always avoided big tires when it comes to 4 cylinders. especially when u hit some thick deep mud. talk about tearin stuff up.

they lack in power, but i dont worry about tearing anything engine wise up. the 2.3 is a very tough little engine. ive taken mine through some things, and the worst ive had happen is my timing belt slipped once in the mud :icon_twisted:

yeah i used to have a 4x4 nissan hardbody with a 2.4 4 cyl and it would go thro some stuff with 31's but its not as easy for them to spin the tires as a 6 cyl. still fun tho. i kinda miss that little truck. 20 bucks would fill it up and last me all week. lol
