There are many threads asking for lifted rangers BTW

how is it with the lift and the 2.3...does it struggle or is it ok? cuz im thinkin bout a 4'' lift on mine with 33s and i have a 2.3

the 2.3 in my truck is toast. It on its last leg before I did the SAS, motor has way to many miles. But overall it runs ok as long as I don't try to go down the highway any faster than 60mph. I can't use overdrive just doesn't have enough power.
I was planning on useing 33's but I got a good deal on the 35's. I am using 4.56 gearing in the axles so that helps some.

i've got an 8.8 with 4.10 gearing and my little 2.3 pulls my 33's right along pretty good. can keep freeway speeds fine, just have to hit 3rd to keep it up at 70 going up the really steep grades. Just don't be scared to let her run way up there and don't expect 25 MPG.

well your 2.3 probably has less miles on it.

i'd say about 220,000 about now. Not the original motor so i can't be sure. But it's not a power house that's for sure. Like you 5th gear is downhill only gear. haha. And to do 70 im about 5200 rpm in 3rd gear.

You guys are crazy. I couldn't handle 2.3 with big meats.

hey nater, what gear ratio you running?
