Hey guys, so I picked up a set of 1996 (4 door) ford explorer (4 leaf pack) leaf springs. They were in pretty good shape, so I just took out the centre pins, put new ones in (pin down) and new bushings. I also gave them a coat of red rust paint for good measure. With them i have a set of belltech shackles. Im installing them tomorrow, and Ill let you all know exactly how much lift they gave me.

im thinking you will get around 4-5 inches of lift

well i currently have a set of worn out ranger leaves...crappy extended shackles and STACKED blocks....2 inch plus 3 inch....I am eliminating the 2 inch block, and replacing the shackles with bell techs. Hoping to be an inch or 2 higher than what i am now even though im getting rid of the 2 inch block.

i have some too gotta wait for my buddys car to get outta the way though before i put it in

I paid 50$ (canadian) per leaf, plus 3$ for 2 new pins, and 3$ for a new bushing. All the old bolts came out except for one, which had welded itself inside the bushing. I just heated it up, and pounded out teh whole thing, then pressed in teh new one.

If for some reason once i get them in, i want more lift or more payload ill just order an add a leaf.

Oh, and as a side note, when you take out the centre pins, MAKE SURE you have clamps on either side, theres a lot of tension on those things.

I'm hoping you'll get 3-4 inches of lift. Thats what I want to do with mine because my Leafsprings are shot. and im doing a 4" superlift in the front shortly.

I know mine is a BII, but once I added the Explorer leafs and Belltech shackles it took mine to 4.5" lift in the rear. My stock leafs were beat though. I also did chop the eyes on the Explorer main leaf and add my stock main leaf.

I'm thinking your on drugs.

The Explorer leafs in a Ranger will give you a MAX of 1.5". More than likely, you will see about .5" to .75" difference.

i got 2.5 out of mine plus a 2 inch shackle that around 4-5

If you got 2.5" out of your Explorer leaf springs, then your Ranger leaf springs were shot.
