better call the maytag man (or samsung equivalent).

Yeah, call someone on it. I have a Samsung LNS series 32" and do not have any imperfections in the screen.

no kidding, I have a 32" Sharp Aquos and a 42" vizio. Both have flawless picture. Sound on the other hand ........ well lets just say I am glad I bought the extended warranty and damage plan....... the TV guy has been out 3 times because the sound board and speakers on the Sharp suck ass.

alright ill give them a call and
i was wondering if it would even be worth getting a blue ray player with only 720p Tv?

nope.

while I cannot tell the difference between 1080i and 1080p (and i have both, the sharp is 1080i and the vizio is 1080p), I can tell you that blu-ray on 720p will be a waste of money.

What about if i bought a PS3, which i was told will upgrade a regular dvd to HD?

It "upscales" the DVD. I have a 32" 720p and I can tell the difference between a blu ray and a normal DVD.

same here, it is still a waaay better picture than a standard dvd even with the 720p. it sucks though when i had the money for my tv, I couldn't find a 32" 1080p/i tv. it also sucks that 32" is the biggest tv I can fit inside my entertainment center/shelf unit without having to build a fan setup to keep it cool.

Some in the industry don't even use the term 1080i it's just 720p, or 1080p. If that helps any, as for bluray on a 720 you'll see a diffrence compared to DVD.

yeah i couldnt find 1080 when i bought my 720 but thats all i could afford

I didn't say he wouldn't see a difference..... just saying without 1080p/i its a waste of money.

I have an upcoverting DVD player that cost $35 and the cable cost $75 (gold plated). it works rather well. we went that route because when we bought it there was still an HD vs Blu-ray war going on. Vizio gave us a blu-ray player when I bought the 42" LCD.

now if you are going to use your PS3 as a blu-ray player then go for it, you will see a difference, just don't waste your money on a blu-ray player until you have a TV that can take full advantage of it.

After having LCD I can not ever go back to CRT. the TV in the kitchen (that I watch when I am cooking) is horrible (and it was top of the line for a 20" CRT flat screen) and as soon as I can afford it.... it will be replaced by a 20" LCD or LED.

I wasnt interested in buying a blu ray I was just going to buy the PS3, but since the PS3 comes with the blu ray i was just wondering if i would notice a difference. i just want an HD dvd player my regular dvd layer looks crappy o my tv

then get an up converter. cost about 30 bux and you can watch your regular DVDs on it.

yeah but the PS3 comes with one too, but idk how long that ones going to last and if i bought it would i really want to watch movies on it. IDK i saw a cheap one at walmart was thinking about getting it you have a $30 and it works fine?
