Should I trade my 2003 B4000 for a 1995 Dodge Ram 3500?

I am in contact with a guy that has a 1995 Dodge Ram V10 3500 for sale, he says that he would like to trade for my truck, I have a 2003 B4000 with a 3" body lift, 33" hankooks wrapped around eagle alloys. Do you guys think that I should trade for this truck? Here is the link to the Dodge:

no

i wouldnt. dodges have notoriously weak transmissions. plus a diesel cant go wheeling much

If you want/need a 1 ton, go for it! That V10 is pretty damn stout!

i think it depends on what you need it for. if you dont need a one ton truck, and your mazda is fine for what you need, keep the mazda. if you could really use a one ton, then do it.

v10 would suck down alot of gas. also dodge has the weak transmission and rear ends that were already stated. im not a big fan of dodges but i guess if you do need the 1 ton to haul things then it would do alright i guess but as a daily driver i would stick with the mazda

I will never trust Dodges reliability......EVER. My stepdad bought a new Ram and the tranny went out at 9,000 miles. A guy I work with has all kinds of issues with his ram. He has an oil leak, replaced ball joints 3 times, tranny rebuild, puking up coolant and rotors keep warping. This 2004 Ram 2500 has like 80,000 miles on it! Dodges are pure shit

Aside from all questions about reliability, etc, the question you really need to ask is whether you have a need for a one ton truck like that. Buy what you need 95% of the time. If your day to day use only requires a 1/4 ton truck and you just need a larger truck occasionally, keep the Ranger. If you're pulling an 8,000 pound trailer several times a week, the Ranger obviously isn't your best choice.

If you have to pull an 8,000 pound trailer your better of driving the Mazda to the Thrifty rent a car than trying to get the Dodge to start:icon_rofl:

If you can a break a Dana 80, you have problems.

Buying ANYTHING with an automatic is a risk IMO, doesn't matter the vehicle brand, it's just a chance you take with autos. RBVs autos aren't anything to write home about either.. A shift kit and a big cooler would go a long way IMO.

Personally I love my dodge and wouldn't (and haven't) thought twice about driving it very long distances. For what I need, it works a lot better than a ranger.

You got one good looking Dakota I'll give you that. You need to put up more youtube videos of it. I'm a fan of your vids

Those are big rear ends, and Ranger autos aren't anything to be proud of either.

Like fastpakr said, if you have the need for a 1 ton truck, then I would do it in a heart beat if I were you. n the other hand, if you don't really need a 1 ton truck, then Keep the Mazda. Gas mileage is another thing you should think of.
I would love to have a Dodge Ram, but I wouldn't need anything as big as a 1 ton (I could use a 1500 every once in a while though). For most everything I do, the Ranger is fine, therefore, that's what I have.

I couldn't agree more!!!

Well I dont need a 1 tone to be honest for what I haul around I dont even need a truck most of the time. But 1 tons are awesome and like Hahnsb2 said if I can break a Dana 80 I have problems, and I am not sure but I think this guy already had the tranny decked out for hauling. This is more like a moral dilemma for me because I have always wanted a huge truck but with all the time and money spent on the Mazda I love that tuck to death I feel like I would be betraying her if I got rid of her.
