Hey, I'm new to the ranger station so help me out here. I'm trying to lift my 83 Ranger 4". I have the coils, blocks, and u-bolts and my drive shaft will be fine. I have outset tires so I shouldn't need to drop my axles. I have 2" spacers in the front right now to level the truck out and my caster/camber kits were alright. But will I need to buy another caster/camber kit to add another 2" on top of that? Please help!!! I want to get all of the info I can before I start on the lift. Thanks.

Well I have 4" lift coils. They'll fit without having to use drop brackets but I don't know if my camber kit will take it. I understand what your saying about the drop brackets but I think they should be fine.

Yes the coils will fit regardless of the drop brackets, the drop brackets have nothing to do with the coils "fitting" or not.

BUT..........the function of the drop brackets is to bring the suspension mounting points down from the frame thus keeping your caster/camber alignments correct. With 4", I don't think you have a choice(at least not that I know)

Welcome to the site by the way! :icon_thumby:

Oh, alright. Thanks for the info. Do you know where to get a good set at a good price. I don't want to drop a lot of money into my truck cause it doesn't have any value and I'll probably break parts anyway.

I'm not sure if you can just buy the brackets or not, you probably can I just don't know where. I'm sure someone on here will know or you could try a search on the internet for them for your truck & see what comes up.

You could also post what you need on this site under the "wanted to buy" section & be sure to check in the "parts for sale" section also. I am pretty sure I have seen them in there. :icon_thumby:

I know you can buy SkyJacker brackets through TRS Fab & Off Road among other places, and Tuff Country's website also sell their brackets. They suck though, so I'd go for the SJs unless you can find somebody selling a set for cheap.

Well I don't want to pay a lot of money cause the truck's not worth it you know? I know I can make my own brackets no problem but what kind of metal should I use? I was thinking 1/4" steel.
