I have a 2009 ford ranger with a petcock radiator drain plug. It seems stuck right before being completely vertical when tightening. Like it's not wanting to tighten all the way. I seen a YouTube video that said these type snap in when seated. I also seen other posts that say there should be little to no resistance when tightening or it could break. With these types of plugs is it normal for it to do this when tightening? If I apply more pressure will it snap in?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! LOL

Is it leaking?
Agree. If it's not leaking then don't worry about it.
When I drain a radiator I just pull off the lower hose. Much faster that way.

And the faster drainage flow pulls more sediment out of the system than the dribble from the petcock.

Win-win.

It's not leaking. I'll probably leave it alone. Just don't want it to back out or start leaking later. If I ever do it again I will use that hose trick
