Abandoned / Pending RBV Projects

That looks like you just don’t want it go to a junkyard where someone else can get parts from it.
Why would i when i use parts off it? Lol

Looks like @Shran needs more chainsaws...

Looks like he's got plenty, just needs a place to exercise them. I'll volunteer my property for it. I've got probably two acres of former pine forest and he's welcome to fell as many as necessary for him to perfect his art and give those chain saws a workout.

Aint decided yet lol.
I feel you, I'm the same way on the '86.

Do I want to salvage all the parts I can and scrap the rest, or do I want to throw it back together as something to beat on?

If I do the former it could donate the repair sheetmetal I need for the 85, probably build the bed into a trailer. Who knows on the rest, I'm sure I could find a use or someone that needs part of it.

If I do the latter I could probably salvage the wiring harness from the totaled 84 (could probably get the sheetmetal for the 85 from it too), drop the cab back on. Once I decide what engine it use it could probably be put back into service pretty quick. Would I make it trash truck, a "drift" (or auto-X) truck, or go the other direction and SAS it for offroad play.

Honestly since I've already got 4 trucks to maintain already, it's probably best if I did the first.

So, what's the wheelbase on a Pinto. Ever thought about a Pinto body on Ranger chassis/drivetrain? One of those station wagon Pintos with the round bubble window near the back end.

The Pinto wheelbase was only 94" and I believe they were all the same, even the wagons.

The Bronco II has a 94" wheelbase, too. I think that I've seen a Pinto body on a B2 chassis before, somewhere.

The '90 is always a slow progress project, it'll sit for a while then get attention... next project is finding a turbo for it... it sits a lot as I got the tires in '11 I think and they're like 50%... need to drive it more...

The '97 Ranger is a daily driver, I have several "plans" for it but nothing important at the moment so it just gets driven...

The '00 Explorer I got in '16 along with a TTB D44 to do cool stuff with but ended up just getting it running and driving in '17 and DD'ing it for 50k miles... now my neglect to the front axle since it wasn't a priority since it would be scrapped has taken out a bearing somewhere (vibrates like a mofo), with other things going on I might get to my plans this winter maybe?

'98 Explorer just sits for now, should get it going and registered and use it instead of the '00, just needs valve cover gaskets, valve stem seals and converted to 4x4 (have all the parts for all of that shy of the conversion U joint), all of that is a solid weekend project... then it would tow the boat around this summer just fine...

'97 Mountaineer, got as a $200 5L and spare parts, it's just in the back yard, will strip it one of these days, have plans for the engine and trans...

Oh then the '92 Ranger I got when I thought the trans in the '90 was shot, sold it then got it back, just need to spend a weekend on it trying to get it to run then probably flip it... who knows, we'll see when I get there...

#1, my wife's basket case, that was her grandpa's truck. It was a mess when we got it but I have regeared it, cleaned the interior, new windshield, different wheels, and some other repairs. Then the transmission started acting up. I had it rebuilt and should have that put back together this evening. I need to do valve cover gaskets and a couple other things on it while it's in the shop. It's been parked for almost 2 years so I'm excited to have it up & running.

Check #1 off the list, it's finally out of the shop after 2 months. Shifts pretty good but now I am reminded of everything else I hated about that truck.

Oh there's more, just ran out of room on that shelf. But regardless, don't tempt me. 😃

I'd take you up on that. Like to get a couple of my older ones out and run them. I used one of my old Homelites last year to cut up a couple trees...those old saws are just a treat.

My holy grail at the moment is a bow bar for my Homelite Zip saw. I have the saw but an affordable bar & chain has been elusive.

What was the purpose?

One of these days I need to get all my chainsaws in one place and get the neat ones displayed... got one torn apart on a bench I need to put back together... I've met very few $5 chainsaws that I didn't end up taking home... really helps that the $5 chainsaws are now $20 or more :)

The purpose of the bow saws is brush, aparently they're great for clearing scotch broom and such...
