Bent frame ideas

What's the deal with the freedom mobile?
Good question. Looks like it's got a flat tire, he's going to need to fix that before making any more beer runs.

Wait... you were taking about the big one weren't you?

Indeed I was lol. Don't they all have portals? Portals are neat.

You must be referring to my wicked bad case of too much shit syndrome. Like 90% of it runs, honest.

It's a 1097A2 hmmwv. Mostly just a bop around vehicle and I bash it around in the mountains every once in a while. Honestly it might be the most reliable thing we own. Certainly doing better than bent frame Roger at this point.

Oh ya, definitely portal hubs, and a snorkel, It rips

Yes, that.

I was jokingly trying to suggest that he was asking about the riding mower, but we were both wondering about the HMMWV.

Before he posted I was kind of wanting to ask why you're messing with a Ranger when you;ve got that sitting there. Between size, speed, and fuel mileage, I fully understand why you'd want the small truck. I was still thinking it though.

That mower is part of the 10% that doesn't run. Haha

I picked up that humvee a couple years ago on gov planet for basically nothing. Put a couple batteries and a trans controller in it and presto, mountain mobile. I have an LS with a six spd manual to swap into it at some point but it runs so well I can't justify pulling it apart.

Don't take that as me advising to buy an auction humvee. I think i got lucky they are usually money pits.

I suppose it's best to close out this thread. I couldn't get the frame to budge no matter how western I got with the massive beam lever setup. So I shimmed the bed and called it good enough. Will need to come up with bumper mounts eventually because it's way crooked.

how do the tires look, any indication they are either brand new (from the PO trying to hide the issue) or wear like crazy?

They don't appear to have any crazy wear going on, and the pickup drives straight. I might re attempt to mess with it down the road, but so far I'm into this thing for like $900, can't really justify a frame rack fee. He'll i don't even know if a frame rack exists in my neck of the woods.

I don't blame ya, believe me I've been limping my hooptie '97 Ranger for a while just keeping it good enough for years... if it helps anything the "chain pots" I got for my shop are THESE, they've gone up a LOT since I bought them, it was apparently $221 for the 6 pack when I got them and now it's $388...

For what it's worth, alignment wise the front spring hanger is WAY more important than the rear, the whole axle alignment relies on the front not the back...
